In this flurry of activity for the brands that make up my life, I’m reminded of something. A thought or project which all (began a year (maybe two) ago. A year of thanksgiving, giving thanks to the Lord. For a great many reasons, some great some small, giving thanks and a shout of praise for all (the life) that’s been.
I’ve had my doubts and uncertainties. A whole bunch of questions and will likely have more while I’m here, but in this year (as well as in years past). As life has been and is going and another year draws near an end. I want to reflect and sow a moment of reflection before whatever happens comes to be.
Firstly let me say Thank you!
In the voice of Tyler Perry, for the table prepared for me and an opportunity to come together – the union of people and things at just the right time… In God’s Time.
Let me say THANK YOU to God and for God [in all the body] for all that has been. It’s been a strange journey (crazy and amazing) filled with joys and pains but the thing I’m most grateful for is – I’m still here! As the psalmist expressed, I will not die I will live and tell the world what God said and did (Psalm 118:17)…
Which gives me another moment to express gratitude. Thank God for his crazy, frustrating, all together lovely and amazing people. The people who’ve poured into and unto my life. As I said elsewhere – The Lion Is Well! Well fed! Well Nourished! Well rested! Lacking in timidity not humility! But, I digress…
The people that have entered and exited my life for times short and long who have abundantly sown into the heaping wealth of harvest that few may benefit from. Few directly, of them and yet. They’ve helped prepare a table filled with all the benefits of who God is and what He has provided is providing for me. I didn’t die! I live! And now I’m telling the world what God Did!
I’m telling Him too as if He needed a reminder. My focus is renewed on what means the most to Him, and me for that matter – His children. Like ’em or want to strangle ’em They are the apple of His eye and that makes them invaluable to me; to us. Again I’d like to thank those who poured into me, bitter and sweet, because I benefitted – it was for my benefit. It still amazes me sometimes…
At any rate to show my gratitude I’m reminded of a story Jesus shared. Ten lepers in (I don’t know why I thought they were blind men, I really need to read more) Luke 17:11-19. Ten lepers came across Jesus’ path and begged for mercy, healing; help for their condition. And although instructed to go and fulfill the articles of the Law. One turned back and gave thanks and praise to God. That in itself is a statement or thought worth exploring. Nevertheless! One recognized he was in the presence of God, and gave Him thanks on the spot and was recognized for this. I say this – I press this issue because ten men cried for help. Ten men asked for and received a benefit. Yet only one stopped to appreciate the moment and appreciate the man (God) in the moment and only one received the benefit of extra – blessing/ communion/ fellowship…
As I said in this year of thanksgiving let me stop and give thanks for the needs He’s addressed. I can’t worry about the need to come. Today is blessed! As the psalmist records this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24). Let us rejoice! Let us resound the world with gratitude. Let us appreciate – the life we have and the riches that it is.
And look forward to the great meal that is to come. For more soul stirring inspiration, don’t forget to come by often and like and subscribe to our messages @inspiringword365
