Ephesians 4:26 – The Message Translation Reads – (MSG) Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.
I wonder how many people don’t know they’re missing the mark?
Paul teaches us anger is not necessarily wrong. How we deal with anger however is another story.
It amazes me the amount of vitriol coming from church goers regarding situations in the world that, when love will do – love is the answer; they choose to spout hateful hurtful things. Hurtful messages that get lost in the noise of change because people don’t understand. It’s not about going along to get along. It’s about caring to show how much you care. People are being beat over the head with the bible when the Bible is a book about love.
God’s love treats the individual significantly better than the individual treats his brother when both are guilty of fruity behavior. Hate the sin all you want but what is the greater sin? Hating the sin or hating the sinner? Protect the children by destroying everything around them?
The devil (our true enemy) loves the chaos surrounding lifestyle choices and inclusivity or exclusivity because it serves his purpose. The question is why do we continue to give a foothold to him when we can simply say – I choose Love.
Again, hate the sin but love the sinner. Help the sinner turn back to God’s righteous path by showing him the light. The light of the love you carry. The light of the hope that God gave YOU when he restored YOU!
